So, since I really had no time to update you on my life in a timely manner, I'm going to tell you about it now. In installments. Here's the first one:
Recovering Summer
Chapter One: I DON'T Want to Marry My Stalker!
It was summer. It was hot. And Brittany was working. At that exact moment, Brittany was standing in the hot sun at an amusement park, yelling at a man that had decided to start spitting at people from the ride she was operating. Brittany had quickly stopped the ride (a swing carousel called Turn of The Century) and was passionately lecturing the guests on proper riding etiquette. This was the fourth time that day she'd had to deal with misbehaving riders and she wanted very dearly to punch everyone she saw. As she stood at the ride's entrance tired, sweaty, and with some strange man's saliva in her hair, she wondered to herself how this day could possibly get any worse. Sadly, she only needed to wait a few hours to find out.
The amusement park that Brittany worked for was part of a Work and Travel program that brought a lot of workers from Europe who were hired just for the summer, and then sent back to Europe. Sometimes this was a good thing, for many of the foreign men were very, very attractive individuals that were also a lot of fun to work with. The rest of them though, were creepers. There was a group of foreign men that had a bet going to see who could sleep with the most American girls while they were here. One of those men worked with Brittany her second shift, and then the trouble started.
He seemed nice enough to Brittany at first, he wasn't especially attractive, but he'd been funny and chatty when they'd worked together. She left for the night thinking she'd made a new friend, which was always a plus for her. Over the next few days though, things started getting strange. The creeper man started finding out what rides Brittany was working, and then when he was on break he would go stand at her ride and just watch her work. One night, he waited for her to clock out, and asked if he could walk with her to her car. By this time, Brittany was becoming very afraid of this foreign man. She'd heard many stories about the men from his country, and was worried he would attack her. Luckily he didn't. But she decided that he was definitely becoming a problem, and started thinking about the nicest way she could get him to leave her alone.
Later that week, the foreign man asked Brittany to go to a movie with him that weekend. He'd already found out her whole schedule for that week, so she couldn't use work as an excuse to get out of it. She told him that she would go, but immediately started forming a back-out plan. Brittany was not very good at dealing with stalkers, so she probably could have handled the entire situation much better. But she didn't. She texted the foreign man the night before their date and told him she was sick. She knew it was a lame excuse, but kind of hoped that the foreign man would take the hint and start leaving her alone. No such luck. After that, he started changing his schedule so that they were working the same rides. Even if he wasn't working, he would come to the park and watch Brittany while she worked. He was constantly texting her, trying to get her to promise to go out with him. Brittany started to really get afraid. She talked to her managers, she wouldn't go anywhere by herself, she even made one of her friends walk her to her car every night so that she wouldn't be alone with the creepy foreigner. Finally she had enough, she told her managers that the Foreign man would not leave her alone, and that if they didn't talk to him she would press sexual harrassment charges against him. She also had her friend who was dating the foreigner's roommate have the roommate talk to him. After that, the foreigner hated her. But he did leave her alone. And she was one very happy chicken.
The End.
