Barmy

I was trying to think of something clever and possibly alliterative to name this post.
I couldn't think of anything, so I turned to my trusty friend
The Thesaurus.
(FYI, a thesaurus is NOT what Dinosaurs called each other)

Dino 1: "Hey, who's thesaurus over there?"
Dino 2: "Oh you know, he's thesaurus we met when we ate that triceratops last week."

But don't feel sheepish if that's what you thought it was until 4th grade. You're not alone.

Anyway...I looked up "crazy" in the thesaurus, and I found the word Barmy.
It's my new favorite word.

I have several phobias that can definitely be described as barmy.
They are as follows:

Number One
Chihuahuas

I know what you're thinking.
Chihuahua's? Really?
THey just sit there with their huge buggy eyes and shake!
How is that scary???
Notice that I said ChihuhuaS meaning more than one.
One chihuahua is nothing, but once you get two or more, they form this little pack and become evil.
No joke.
If I see chihuahuas, I freak out.
WHich is bad, because they can smell fear.

Number Two
Dolphins

Dolphins swim up on shore and rape people.
Also, they're always smiling at you like they know something.
It freaks me out.

Number Three
Other People's Bathrooms

I'm fine with public bathrooms, but I hate Hate HATE using the bathrooms in people's houses.
I'm always afraid that I'll either break something, or that a serial killer is hiding behind the shower curtain.

Number Four
Venus Flytraps

What if I accidentally put my hand too close and it tries to chomp it off?

Number Five
Aliens

I watched this movie once about this lady whose daughter was abducted by aliens.
They voip you out of your bed, and do freaky experiments on you.
But the worst part? They give you alien ruffies so you can't remember any of it.
Vulcans don't count as aliens though.
I love Vulcans.

Number Six
Clowns

When I was little, my grandparents took me to the circus.
There were clowns there.
One was this sad little clown, with golf balls in his cheeks, holding a sign that said
"Kisses, 10 cents"
My grandma made me kiss the clown.
I was traumatized for the rest of my life.

Number Seven
Childbirth

I don't know how in the world women go through this.
It sounds like the most horrible, painful, traumatizing thing in the world.
I'll just skip it, and adopt Asian babies.

Number Eight
Falling

I hate hate hate hate HATE it.
This is why I never ride The Rocket.
And I'm very wary of cliffs.
And stairs.

Number Nine
Robots

I am Robot.
Terminator.
Decepticons
The Day The Earth Stood Still

How many times do we have to watch the same story before we realize that robots will ultimately be the destruction of humanity?

The only good robots are Wall:E, Eva, and R2D2
The rest are just jerks

Number Ten
The Joker

Mostly just the Heath Ledger Joker.
He still gives me nightmares.
THe Jack Nicholson Joker just makes me laugh.

{SO}

There you have it.
My barmy fears.
Mock me if you will
But don't come crying to me when you're attacked by a chihuahua.
Or a robot.

The End.

How I Didn't Meet a Famous Person's Wife

Remember how I work at Lagoon?
Well, I had to go back this weekend. And it still super sucks.
Especially since I had to miss USU's homecoming game AND participating in a world-record-breaking kissing chain!
Grrrrrrr...

World-record kiss or not, I did still have a pretty interesting weekend. Lagoon has a knack for attracting the weirdest people in the world.
Fact.

Today I was working on Bombora, and on Bombora as on all our other roller coasters- we do not allow riders to bring bags on the ride. It's the rules. It's always been the rules.
So, this lady comes on Bombora. Sits down, and tries to tuck her purse between her feet.
I see stuff like this all the time, so I went over to her and very kindly told her that I couldn't let her take her bag on the ride, and asked her if I could set it off to the side.
She said:
"You most certainly can NOT! This bag is worth more than your life!"
Now,
the only way I can see a purse as being more valuable than my entire being, is if it were a secret portal into Narnia. As I was 97.939% sure that this wasn't the case, I was slightly perturbed by this answer.
I once again very calmy, very kindly told her Lagoon's bag policy and stated that the bag would been in my full view the entire time and that it would be perfectly safe.
To this she said:
"No you don't understand. I have medication in here. Like, I have hardcore rocks in here, AND $5000 in cash. I'm not letting this bag out of my ****ing sight!"
Ok.
Unless you're an undercover agent trying to bust a notorious drug lord for the FBI, why in the world would you go to an amusement park with hard drugs and exuberant amounts of cash??? I was quite literally scratching my head in confusion when she sighed hugely, shoved the bag at me and said:
"Ok. Fine Dammit. But this bag is worth more than your entire life, so you better not let ANYTHING happen to it!"

As I started the ride I reflected on the conversation and thought to myself that it couldn't get any stranger. I was tempted to hide the bag and say that some weirdo had run off with it, just to see what her reaction would be, but figured it wasn't worth her pulliing a knife out of her boot and getting all Jason Bourne on me.
Instead, I gave it back to her as she exited the ride.
I was expecting another snide remark about how apparantly worthless my entire existence was, or at least some profanity. But I was most definitely NOT expecting what she said next:
"Oh thank God! Deron Williams would have KILLED me if anything had happened to this bag!"

Deron Williams?
as in point-guard-who-used-to-play-for-the-Jazz-Deron-Williams?
My mind was blown.
Then I started thinking that she really WAS an FBI agent, and that she was speaking in some sort of federal spy code.
Or something.
Mrs. Bourne/Deron Williams/Crazy Lady gave me a look full of haughty condecension and said quite disdainfully:

"Yeah. THE Deron Williams. These are his kids, I'm the wife. It's nice to meet you."

My mind was still trying to figure out if she was speaking in code, so I dazedly shook her extended hand, and watched her walk away with a look of pure and utter confusion on my face. The only cohesive thought in my brain, just like John in Kid History Episode 6, was this:
"What in the FREAK just happened?"

It was one of the weirdest encounters of my entire life.

As soon as I got home, I googled Deron Williams to see if he really WAS married to this crazy/possibly a secret agent lady.
Turns out no.
He's married to this lady:

She looks very nice.
Also NOTHING like the psycho wench I met today.
That lady seemed to me, in dire need of a straight jacket.

Also, a little girl told me that I had Princess Hair.
Best compliment EVER.

My Life's Awesome. Fact. FACCCCCCT.

I know I've been a real dirty trash can full of poop in regards to my keeping you updated on my life. So, I'm going to tell you all exactly how my day was today.

A Day In The Life of An Incredibly Attractive Ginger That You Should Be Extremely Jealous of.
Take 1.

Firstly, I have the best schedule in the whole entire world. My first class isn't until 12:30 so I get to spend my mornings blissfuly sleeping in until 9 or 10....or sometimes almost until 11. Don't judge. Anywhoo...I got up this morning/almost afternoon incredibly excited because last night was the premeiere of Glee!! My almost favorite TV show of all time!!!! (It's in a three way tie with BIg Bang Theory and Chuck) So I get out my cute little laptop, log on to my cute little hulu, and then do you know what happened??? Hulu said that I can't watch Glee FOR A FETCHING WEEK UNLESS I BUY HULU PLUS!!! I flipped a biscuit.

After that: I went to class. Where I learned how to say this:
你 工作审理吗?
which means "is your work stressful?"
I'm so freaking Asian it's not even funny.

After my Asian class, I headed over to chill with my super cool, bald friend Ellis. He stole my laptop, hacked my facebook and changed my relationship status to "engaged"
So- everyone I know started freaking out because they thought that I was getting married. To Ellis' freshman roomate.
I had people calling me and texting me all day with their congratulations. I don't even have a fetching boyfriend! How in the poop could I magically be engaged? I'm not some freaky Shakespearean wench who decides she's soooooooooo in love with wimpy little Romeo after she's met him like twice.
I'm so not that girl.
Not even a little bit.

In the midst of my fake-fiance-fiasco (sweet alliteration there right?) I had to go to the rest of my classes where I was pretty much bored out of my ginger mind. Except in my FCHD class, which is always interesting because the professor is this adorable grad-student that I can't for the life of me tell if he's gay or not. Not that I really care mind you, it's just very difficult to tell. And it bugs me. Also he looks like a meerkat.
And adorable meerkat.

Remember how I made Swing Team? Well we have two practices a week and one of those was tonight. I spent two hours dancing my heart out, and realizing that I'm really not as good a dancer as I thought I was.
:(
My partner is a pretty chill guy. His name is Milo.
He wears exciting shoes.
Also, Milo is just a really cool name.

Basically, that was my day. Give or take a few unhealthy college student meals, some awkward encounters with Asians, and a lot of riding my adorable bike around campus. I lead a pretty charmed life.
It's ok if you're jealous.

The End.

"Amusement" Park

Once again, I apologize for being so horribly lax in my posting this summer. I'm a horrible person and all that jazz. But, if YOU worked over 40 hours every week, you might not get to play around on your computer as much as you like either...just sayin'.

Working at Lagoon has proven to be much more...interesting than I thought it would be. And, by interesting, I do not mean that my work itself is interesting-because it is not. I mean the things that happen to me at work are interesting, and sometimes not in a good way.

RANDOM THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED TO ME AT LAGOON

1. I discovered how much of a weakness I have for men that have accents. Seriously- they can even be kind of unattractive but as soon as I hear them talk I go all to pieces. This is unfortunate when the only people you work with are European. It makes focusing on work very very hard...especially when they are very pretty. Which some of them are.

2. I learned some sweet bowstaffing skills. One day, no one was coming on my ride, and the guy I was working with was this big tough looking foreign man. We started sweeping, and he started doing CRAZY flippy spinny things with his broom. It was impressive. It turns out, that back in Bulgaria he studied martial arts for four years and was super awesome. We spent the rest of the shift whacking each other with brooms. It was awesome.

3. Karl Malone is very nice. He brought his family to Lagoon and I got to meet him. At first, I didn't know who he was- I just figured that everybody was staring at him because he was so freaking tall! But it turns out that he was really just Karl Malone. It was cool beans.

4. A man once brought a fake tarantula on my ride and pretended to throw it at me to see if I would freak out.

I did.

5. These boys decided they loved me, so they came on my ride almost 20 times so they could talk to me. They even gave me a stuffed animal they won at one of the games. They were precious...but too young for me.

6. I helped stop a criminal in his tracks! A kid tried to walk out of one of the stores with a bunch of stuff under his shirt. After we noticed him, he tried to run away but we caught him- and I got to stand watch and make sure he didn't get away again. Granted, he was only 8 years old, but it was exciting all the same.

7. I learned that while foreign men may be pretty, it is not good to give them your number. They will stalk you. And send you creeper texts. And you have to tell them that you have a boyfriend. And you have a lot of awkward encounters in the break room. The End.

8. One day, it was raining, and Puff The Magic Dragon wouldn't work...so they had to run it with people in it to try and get the breaks working....and I had to ride it, in the rain, 20 times in a row. Stupid Puff.

9. A man threw up on my ride and I had to clean it up. He ate hash browns for breakfast...I will not be eating hash browns again in the foreseeable future....Jibblie...

10. People never ask me how my day is, what my favorite movie is, what kind of music I like, what my favorite kind of skittle is. No. They without fail ask me the same thing. Every. Day.
YES THIS IS MY NATURAL HAIR COLOR! HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN A GINGER BEFORE??? I appreciate that they're in awe of my hair...but I'm getting really sick of that being the only thing people ever ask me about.

These are the most "amusing" things that have happened to me thus far. I have made a lot of children cry, and it makes me feel like a bad person inside, but other than that Lagoon is pretty mundane. And by "Pretty" I mean horribly.

Moral of The Story: I can't wait for fall

Theme Park Cookie Toss

As many of you know, I am working two jobs this summer: one as a ride operator at Lagoon, and one as a sales associate at Gymboree. I thoroughly enjoy both jobs, but on days where I have to go straight from one to the other...things can get a little interesting...

Yesterday was one of these days.

I worked a shift at Gymboree, getting all trained up and such, went home and at a delicious lunch of chips and guacamole, and I then I had to scamper on over to Lagoon.
And things started to get ugly.
I started off my shift fine, I got all clocked in, got to the ride I was operating for the day, and got to work.
I was having a pretty fun time. Everyone was being really friendly, no one yelled at me when I told them they had to wait for the next train, and lots of people complimented me on my hair - which is always nice to hear.
Then, I started getting nauseous. And dizzy. And my head hurt like the dickens.
This is not a good combination, especially when you're at work.
I kept drinking, and trying to stay in the shade as much as possible, telling myself that it would blow over soon.
It didn't.
Three hours later, I was in really bad shape.
I called my supervisor, and told him what was going on. He said that one of the relief operators could finish my shift, but I'd have to go give the girl running the Turn Of The Century swings her break before I could leave.
She wanted a half hour break, I thought I could  last that long.
( thought being the key word in that sentence )
I started loading people onto the ride, checked all their harnesses, and was just about to start it up when I got that feeling.
That oh-my-holy-crap-I'm-going-to-puke-right-now feeling.
I had nowhere to go- I was locked in my little operator booth and the nearest trash can was forever-far away.
I panicked, my stomach lurched, and I did the only thing I could...tossed my cookies all over the ground.

Puking is NEVER an enjoyable pastime. It is exponentially worse when you're vomiting in front of hundreds of people.
I can only say that I'm in no hurry to EVER do it again.

After I finished emptying the remains of my digested guacamole onto the ground, I called my supervisor and told them I needed someone to replace me. He said someone would be right there.
In the meantime, I was stuck in a little booth with the remains of my lunch, while people stared at me with mixtures of pity, mirth, and disgust.

It was not fun times.

My supervisor came fairly quickly though, and I was soon on my way home where I spent the remainder of my night sleeping.
Today I feel much better, and luckily I don't work at Lagoon again until Thursday. I can only hope that the story of my cookie-toss didn't make it very far.

Moral of This Story: I'm not eating guacamole for a while.

Busy Beginnings, and Also Geese

Yesterday was my first official day working at Lagoon. As far as firsts go, it was a pretty good one! A very long one, but good all the same.
I got to Lagoon at 7:30 yesterday morning for a training, and then they told me they needed me to work a shift from 10 to 4:30, and after that I was scheduled to work until the park closed. So my first day of work lasted over 15 hours.

That's a long time.

I worked my first shift as an attendant on the fabulous Wild Kingdom Train! I enjoyed this very much because it involved me working with small children... and trains.
The little kids were so adorable! While they were waiting in the station they would practically be bursting with excitement, and then once the train came around the corner- a couple of them almost exploded. Yes it was hot and muggy and very, very repetitive, but it was extremely worth it to see the huge smiles on all the little kids faces.
It made me feel all glowy inside.

My second shift was on the Turn of The Century swings. I still liked working this ride, but it wasn't as fun as the train. I just put people on, pushed a couple buttons, and let them off the ride over and over and over and over again. And all the super adorable little kids were too small to ride this one, so I dealt mostly with insubordinate preteens.
I tell you what, there is nothing as annoying as a group of 13 year old girls.

Over the course of the day, I got settled into the routine that I will be invariably reliant on for the next three months: Work, break, work, break, work, break, work, work, break.
I lead a charmed life.
My cute little routine was rudely interrupted however, right as I was getting ready to close. My last run of the ride was underway, when something very unexpected occurred. Two geese from the little lake decided they'd had enough of water, and ran up the exit ramp and onto the ride platform! They waddled around like they owned the place, and I had to enlist the help of another ride operator to get them far enough away from the ride that I could start it again.
It was, in my mind, a very silly experience.

Moral of The Story: Geese are dumb.

I Can't Understand The Songs Stuck In My Head

I know it is a huge pet peeve for everyone when they get a song stuck in their head. At first you really don't mind, you might even hum along or whistle if you can. But after an hour, or a day, or a week of having this song constantly playing in your head, you mostly just want to kill it in some gruesome way. Possibly involving a blender and a curling iron.

I suffer from this, just like every other person, but I have a slightly different problem... the songs in my head are in Korean. Or sometimes Chinese. So when these songs get stuck in my head, it's just random strings of Asian gibberish repeating over and over again.

Lately, it's been this song:

It's called "Ice Cream" and it's adorable, but very very catchy. The girl is called Joo and the slightly-fruity-yet-still-attractive-asian-man is Leeteuk. He's from my former-favorite boyband Super Junior.

I really don't know what it is, but especially lately I just don't even like American music. It just doesn't float my boat.

Moral of this story: I need to learn Korean. Also, I'm hopelessly geeky with my Asian fetish.

Bloggin' 'Bout a Bunch of Bulgarians

I just love it when things are alliterative. It makes me all happy inside.

Today was my 2nd day of training at the fabulous Lagoon amusement park, and what an exciting place to work it is....not. Not really. It's not awful by any means, but the way it is managed is a little frustrating. The whole system is really disorganized and hard to work with. I finally started my training though, and so far I quite enjoy it! Operating rides is a lot simpler than I thought it would be, mostly, I push a button to start the ride and then let go of the button to stop it. Hardly rocket science.

The people I've been training with are awesome. They are all part of some work/travel organization that brings people from foreign countries to the U.S, where they work for 3 months, and then spend a month traveling across the country. The four I've been working with are all from Bulgaria and they're really cool. There are 3 guys; Yordan, Igor, and Dimitrishnivshnocklevich (I really had no idea how to say his name) and then a girl; Nena. The first day we trained, they mostly just sat there talking to each other in Bulgarian, but today they were a lot more friendly. I like them. Bulgarians are all right in my book. Plus they have really awesome accents. They think that Utah is hot and boring, mostly because they're all old enough to drink in Bulgaria, but not here in the states and they can't think of many other ways to pass the time. I hope I get to work with them a lot, I think they're fun.

Other than that, my life has not been exciting AT ALL, which explains my little lapse in posting. My dad just got back from a two week jaunt in Italy where he had an amazing time. I'm super jealous. The sun FINALLY came out and I accidentally fell asleep on my front lawn...resulting in a pair of bright red calves. Ouch. Also, I totally reorganized my bedroom. I'm very proud of it now. It actually looks like a bedroom instead of the messy cave of a hibernating bear!

How have all of your lives been? Any amazing adventures? (ooh look at that- I got all alliterative again!) I would love to hear about them!

Moral of the Story: Bulgarians are cool. Not quite as sexy as Asians, but cool. Also...wear sunscreen.

The Things You Learn From Friends...

It was another fabulous weekend in which I journeyed far and wide to the magical land of Vernal, Utah. I have a love-hate relationship with this town because I always have so much fun when I go there, but I always end up having to say goodbye to an awesome friend. It seems like all I do anymore is go to farewells. I love them, but they're sad.

This weekend seemed like the first rain-free one this year! Holy Biscuits y'all, I am so sick of the rain. If it was a person, I would punch it. Even if it was an Asian. All Asians aside, it was a great weekend. We hiked, (so much easier in the daytime I tell you what!) ate, talked, joked, teased, danced, sat around, and just had a stellar time. I know it has only been two weeks since I was living down the hall from all these people, but I really have missed being around them a lot; and it was so great to have some time just to hang out again.

Some Highlights of the weekend were:

  • The Drive Up: I rode up with my friends Whitney and Mackay and we spent the entire 4 hours teasing the crap out of each other. I don't think there was even a moment a silence, it was immensely entertaining.
  • The World Didn't End: I admit it, I was a little worried that it would. Thank goodness it didn't though, the Glee finale isn't until tomorrow!! Are they going to win Nationals? Do Fin and Rachel get back together?? I CAN'T HANDLE THE SUSPENSE!!!
  • Night Hiking: Something we always end up doing when we go to Vernal. This time we went to a quaint little rock formation known as "Moonshine Arch" unfortunatey we didn't have any moonshine, but even more unfortunately there were in fact several moons that shone over the course of the evening. It was a lot of fun though, and the stars in Vernal are incredible, I could almost see the Death Star.
  • Learning: Mackay found a very educational book at his house called "Self Knowledge: A Companion To Know Thyself". It was full of intellectual gems about relationships including: "Spooning is the kindergarten to prostitution" and "Symptoms of Impregnation: Childbirth" there was much guffawing involved with this novel.
  • Names: We spent much of the weekend calling each other names, but this is mostly referring to a very interesting website that we discovered. PoopNames.com. That's right, there is an entire website devoted to naming the different styles of excrement that exit the human body. It might have been the fact that we were in Vernal and sleep-deprived, but we were laughing so hard at this website that we cried. Don't Judge.
There was a lot more that happened, but sadly, these are the best parts. Of course getting to be at Caden's farewell was great, he's an awesome guy and he's going to be an amazing missionary. I was sad to leave Vernal, but I know I'll be going back later in the summer to party and try my hand at wakeboarding. I think I'm going to rock, but we'll see.

New and Improved: Most Embarrassing Moment

I just took my last final, as of right now I have completed my first semester of college. It felt really weird to write that sentence. I never thought that I would ever be old enough to go to college, and now here I am already finished with my first year.

I have had such an amazing experience up here at Utah State, I have the best roommates in the entire world that have become some of my best friends, I've made many other friends and had some amazing adventure, and I've learned so much about life and myself that I never knew before. I have grown so much intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and most other ways except vertically over the last nine months. It has truly been an adventure. :)

And; speaking of adventures, I had a very interesting one last night. Me and my roommates decided we were going to have a bonfire up at 2nd Dam and burn all of our silly quotes that we've collected throughout the year. Me and my roommate Elise also decided that we were going to end the semester with a bang, and go jump in the freezing waters of the dam. That's right. We're that crazy.

So, we went and stole some wood from the behind the grocery store, and got ready to go. This involved me putting on my favorite swimming suit since I wasn't about to go jump into a dam dam in just my underclothings. After I put on my swimsuit, which happens to be a very cute bikini, I wanted to show my roommates how cute the henna tattoo I had just gotten on my belly looked so I walked into the living room. In my bikini. (I bet you see where this is going) As I walked into the living room, I realized that the windows were wide open, and that outside the window was my neighbor Bradley. Bradley was talking on the phone and happened to glance into our apartment, where he saw me standing in my cute little bikini. The poor guy thought I was in my underwear and blushed redder than a tomato, immediately clapped his hands over his eyes, and ran into the door in his attempt to avert his gaze.

I was absolutely mortified. It's one thing to be in a bikini in front of your roommates that you live with, it is another thing entirely to be seen in one by your neighbor. Especially if he thinks you are just in your underclothing. I'm pretty sure that if you look in the dictionary right now, you will find my face next to the definition for Embarassed.

Fortunately, the night took a turn for the better, and our bonfire was a success! We had a grand time reminiscing, laughing, and burning stuff. And then Elise and I braved the elements, and jumped into the frozen waters of the dam. It was durn cold my friends. Durn. Cold. But it was wild and exciting, and a great way to end the semester.
I hope All y'all are having great lives, just remember to eat your vegetables, and make sure that your blinds are closed before you take your clothes off.

The End.

Only Your Real Friends Will Tell You When Your Face is Dirty

I have truly been blessed to have some of the most amazing friends in the world.

Me, Lara Smith, and Jackie Loveland have been besties since we were wee sophomores. Well... they were average sized sophomores, I was the wee one. When we met, the three of us had been through an awful lot of rejection. None of us could find a place where we really fit in, and we had all kind of developed an inferiority complex, we weren't good enough for anybody, and no one would ever like us for who we really were. Luckily, we all decided to join marching band, where we found each other and our lives changed.

I remember the first time I really talked to Jackie, I'd known who she was since middle school, but we had never really connected before. We were chatting it up after marching band practice, and she smoothly inserted a Homestar Runner-ism into the conversation. It was then I knew we were friends. That day, we walked the mile and a half to my house, discovering the many things we had in common along the way, and then Jackie walked the three miles back to her house. After that we were best friends.

I don't think there was an exact moment where Lara became one of us, it was more of a gradual process, all I know is that by the end of marching band seasons, we were tote's BFF's. We even dubbed ourselves as superheros of band. That's right fools. We were the bandtasmics!

We were so awesome. And for about a year and a half we wrote and illustrated our own bandtasmic comic strips and taped them to the wall of the band room.

We stayed friends all through High School and while we all would occasionally drift apart, something would always bring us back together. Then we graduated and made the very lame decision to all go to separate colleges. I'm living it up as an Aggie, Lara's rocking the U, and Jackie's halfway between us at Weber. Despite our seperation, we have stayed as close as ever, and alway take the time to make sure we know what's going on in each other's lives.

Last night we were chatting it up via facebook and Lara mentioned to me that she had heard some very distressing news about Jackie. Jackie recently got out of a relationship that was very trying for her, and someone had told us that she was looking into purchasing a pregnancy test. The two of us were terrified that Jackie was pregnant, and just hadn't found a way to tell us yet.

So we debated for a long time whether we should just straight up ask her, or just casually bring up pregnancy in conversation and see what happened, or just wait nine months to see if a little stranger came out of her uterus. We decided to just call her, and I volunteered to be the call-ee.

You have never had an awkward phone conversation until you've had to ask one of your best friends if she's pregnant.

This is basically how the conversation went:

Me: Hey Jackie it's me, your friend. That is ginger.

Jackie: Um.. Hi?

Me:...I don't really know how to put this...so I'm just going to go for it... Lara and I heard that you went to buy a pregnancy test....so...um....are..you....pregnant?

Jackie: (bursting into laughter) WHAT?!!?! NO!! OF COURSE NOT!!

Me: phew, that is great great news. Wow. Thanks for not being pregnant I guess...

Jackie:...um... anytime?...

Yeah, I know it sounds awkward, but it was 12 billion times worse in person.

I just want to say, that I love these girls. I love that we can go a month without talking and still know everything about each other. I love how we think our inside jokes from four years ago are still funny. I love how we can finish each others sentences while we're chatting on facebook. I love that we can call each other to ask if we're pregnant, and then spend an hour afterwards laughing about it. I love all the great memories we've shared, and the many many more to come.

It's been great you guys

Disaster

Now, I am not trying to be vain or narcissistic when I say that I am a fairly attractive human being. I'm no Marilyn Monroe, or Audrey Hepburn, but I think I'm fairly nice to look at. One of my favorite things about myself is my hair, I love my hair. Maybe, if I could, I would marry it. It's just so, orange-y and soft and shiny.

Anyways... when I'm bored, I love playing with my hair. Curling it, straightening it, braiding it, pulling it up, taking it down...and the last time I was at Wal-Mart I decided to invest in some hair rollers. I thought it would be an awesome plan, shower at night, put my hair in the rollers, and then take them out the next day and have gorgeous, luscious, curly hair. Unfortunately....things didn't quite work out...

See Here I am, not bad right?

Here's me in the rollers. It took forever, but I was so excited that I didn't care.

Yup. That's how it ended. I looked like a bad cross of Annie and a lion. I showed my roommates and they laughed for a long time. It was very embarassing.

So, moral of this story: don't use hair rollers. Unless you want to look like you have an afro.
